Gauge: 4 sts.=1"
Knitting Needles: size 7US or 8US (4.5mm or 8mm) 16"circular and double pointed
Finished measurements: 14" -15"
(Shown in Araucania Nature Wool Chunky)
Other yarns to try:
     
CO 56 sts., join, being careful not to twist and place marker.
Work K2, P2 ribbing for 4 rows (or to desired length)
Work st.st. (Knit all rows) until hat measures 4" from CO edge.
Decrease crown as follows: (switch to double pointed needles after round 3)
Round 1: *K7, K2 together, repeat from *
Round 2: (and all even rounds) Knit
Round 3: *K6, K2 together, repeat from *
Round 5: *K5, K2 together, repeat from *
Round 7: *K4, K2 together, repeat from *
Round 9: *K3, K2 together, repeat from *
Round 11:*K2, K2 together, repeat from *
Round 13:*K2together, repeat from *
Round 14: Repeat round 13, cut yarn, pull through sts., weave in the ends.
